New Mobil 1 Advanced Clean

No mention of piston deposits. I believe this oil has a good slug of PAO if I'm not mistaken.

I do think it's a new formulation but not sure yet. It's not on their website so maybe their about to update it.

Tough sell without cleaning pistons. We know other Mobil 1 oils can clean sludge. I’m still intrigued nonetheless. Thanks for finding this!

I think so. Well if you can prevent deposits to begin with you're good for the most part. It appears these companies are branching out into other industries and examining new chemistry that is not typical in the automotive world. See the Mobil 1/Racing post.

But cleaning piston deposits is unique to Valvoline Restore and Protect as it stands now. That's much different than cleaning up sludge.

I found it on AAPs site to!

Strange it does not say anything about piston deposits but does say cleans your engine in one oil change. I had good experience with Mobil 1 Extended Performance reducing oil consumption in my altima so it potentially cleaned some piston deposits but no way to actually confirm that

What about preventing Varnish, I thought we were over the Sludge Thing.
The Prevents thing is really not cool for me, at what mileage or driving condition does the Prevention thing stop preventing Deposits.
No mention of Piston Deposits, but it cleans your engine in one oil change.

My guess is this is their rebranded Mobil 1 Extended Performance GF-7/SQ oil and they boosted the cleaning (SDS did change) but marketed it as "Advanced Clean" due to Valvoline Restore and Protect. Doesn't sound like it has the ability to clean piston deposits, which may be exclusive to Valvoline being it is proprietary. With that said it still appears to be very good and preventing deposits in the first place is where you want to be.
