purchased new Mic,(badaxx condenser mic... birthday present) will not work when plugged into karaoke machine... old mic works... not the fancy mic the princess wanted so I got the badaxx... Already sent one back and got another that one didn't work... Am I missing something here? difference in Mics, so they won't work in different speakers etc... way outa my element here... Do get a bit of a crackle when pulgged in... no switch... has a big plug that we got adapter to fit the machine... Thanks...

You didn't say what model, but most condenser mics need phantom power to operate. Very unlikely a karaoke machine has a built-in phantom power supply. If the microphone has an XLR (3-pin) connector, that's a sure sign it needs phantom power.

Yep, that microphone needs 48 VDC phantom power. Very unlikely a karaoke machine supplies that. I believe there are phantom power supplies that can be inserted ahead of your adapter.
