This is an extra fee plate people can get over the standard tags. Never cared for a crab image on a license plate, but to each his own.
Chesapeake Bay BridgeI love blue crabs! A lot...
Probably not, but is that the Francis Scott Key bridge?
No rest area here. You must have his confused with the Chesapeake Bay tunnel. We've crossed it once almost 20 years ago. Out of curiosity, we stopped at the rest stop.
I believe it may have two.
There were no concession operations of any kind. It was odd and eerie to see the empty room where one would expect to find a roadside gift shop and snack bar.
Also, big birds must land on it without caution. There were splattered birds and blowing feathers throughout the length of it.
Rest rooms were provided though.
When you're on the northern end, go to Onley, VA and visit Turner Sculptures. They make quality animal themed art..
Do you get a new tag when you re-register an existing vehicle? An extra fee on top of the already increased rates; wonder how many will go for it?
They came out with a re-designed plate here in PA. Supposed to roll out right around when I have to renew the truck. NOT happy about the ugly new plate![]()

Better than pic of a slab of scrapple.PA has always had boring license plates. They just announced a new one for us that I kind of like…

Interesting. I still see cars with a few generations ago tags in Maryland. They haven't redone the PA license plate since the very early '00's and I can't remember how they did it as I was just a kid. They have been replacing the older plates with new ones when you renew (starting with D, E, F, G) so I can only assume you'll get a new plate in the mail when you renew.
I asked a waitress at a Bob Evans one morning, what is scrapple? She said it was pork then asked the cook and he said it was beef. I gathered it might be a combination of the two, a true mystery meat, and ordered bacon.Better than pic of a slab of scrapple.
Very similar to Louisiana plates in the past.Interesting. I still see cars with a few generations ago tags in Maryland.
In Maryland we have two "charity tags" one for the bay and one for agriculture. It's $10 per year on top of your normal registration fee. It's completely optional. The additional fee benefits the Chesapeake Bay Trust or the Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation.
For everyone's reference, this is the existing image.

Would have been way cooler if the new plate showed the Key Bridge, with it missing a section.

"Scrapple is typically made of hog offal, such as the head, heart, liver, and other trimmings, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth. Once cooked, bones and fat are removed, the meat is reserved, and (dry) cornmeal is boiled in the broth to make a mush."
yuck!
