Picked up this big beast new never fired for half off. Ordering a 36in xtough light bar and a new. 063 chain full skip. Later I might get a 28in bar as well to have the full spread.

Funny fact, this beast with the bar and no fluids weights 19.2lbs. My 67cc Echo CS670 with fluids and same length bar weighs 19.6lbs. I can tell which saw I'm going to grab more often don't you? I'm going to have to port the 670 just to make it earn it's keep now.........

Not sure why they bundle this with a 20in bar but it seems silly. Can't wait to max it out. Probably not going to do any porting or anything. May consider a muffler mod and maybe a flywheel key advance if that would do anything. Not going to grind on the ports. Planning to keep long term.

Great choice. My Husqvarna has been more reliable than my stihl's.

I have one also, its a great saw. Tons of power! It is heavy but I use it for just the logs. Saves time. Mine is set up with a .050 3/8 chain. I have a 20 inch and 32 inch bar.

If you got it 1/2 off , you stole it, its an $1100-$1400 saw.

I got it from a reseller that buys pallets of damage / overstock / and customer returns. This had a damaged throttle saftey latch which he included and it took me 3 minutes to swap it out. I bore scoped it, and did a full inspection when I got it home but the other saw I bought and gifted was perfectly as advertised so I felt comfortable with doing business with him again.

Was disgusted how ever that husky had almost no lubrication on the clutch bearing. I solved that already...

Always loved the 390 - awesome powersaw. Except for maybe opening up the muffler a bit, I typically leave my work saws stock, like my 572XP. It's already a factory hot rod.

Nice saw! I also leave my work saws mostly stock, just seems to keep them less finicky and sensitive to temperature changes. I do a muffler mod and that's usually it.

The 20" bar is interesting, but I see that a lot too. Lots of guys around here with massive saws and a 20" bar. I have an 18" on my Echo CS-501p and a 20" on the Jonsered CS2171. I also have a 32" bar for the Jonsered for big logs and stumps. If I had a bigger saw I'd run minimum of a 24" and use it just for the bigger stuff. Also have a little 14" Echo CS352 for limbing, cutting up small stuff, and when I work on a friend's Christmas tree farm. The small saw I grab probably 60% of the time. Right tool for the job.

Should work very well, nice setup. Spent a few hours cutting today with my Jonsered CS2171 and 20" Tsumura bar.

Husky is proud of their price for their x tough light bars and I am still in shock with post "C" inflation prices but I carried this outside and check the balance, and wish I went with a 32. But I wanted to max it out. It is quite bar heavy with it's balance. This saw will be a workout to use.

One of these days I will do a first start video. Just have nothing to cut right now. Waiting on approval to cut in a large woodyard as my friends and I are way low on firewood.

Got some Sunoco Optima 95 Race Fuel, mixed it 40:1 and I added a touch more oil for break in. Started quite easily:

I have the 28" Light bar on my 572XP with a full house hand file. It's a good balance and I think it would be worth having a 28" for your 390.

I was finally able to locate and cut some large diameter wood and get some run time (one and a half tanks) thru my 390XP.

To refresh, I am running a 36" Light Bar with a 3/8" x .063 Full Chisel Skip Tooth chain.

There is no doubt the saw is impressive. It is able to "tractor" right thru the large cuts with no signs of slowing. But the best way I can compare the operation of this saw is it cuts just like my 350 husky with an 18" .325 x .050 chain would fully burried. The 390XP feels and sounds almost similar but pulling that full length 36" bar.

I was expecting an all out screamer, but this is more like a tractor or torque monster.

I do feel some vibration in the main handle at certain RPM's just off idle but not at full throttle. Not sure if this is normal for the larger displacement or not. There is no vibrations in the tank / right hand throttle handle.
