Are you willing to use fram extra guard on your 2010 toyota sienna?

I just realized this was probably directed toward me, so no, I would not use a Fram filter on it. It sounded like you were saying it's important to use ONLY the OEM filter, so maybe I misunderstood. Educate away...

I am going to leave the factory fill in until the OLM reaches 15% or June 1st which would be 1 yr. Does anyone think I should at least change out the oil filter and top off with some PP.

I did change my 2009 CR-Vs oil early (2000miles) as I was going to tow 1600lbs across HOT (116*F) Texas and back @ 80mph the first Summer I had the car. I wanted a good, fresh synthetic oil in there for that 1600 mile trip. No damage from the trip or the early oil dump noted so far.

Funny how the Honda engineer said "less friction" is good for break in and the old "Synthetic oil is too slippery for break in"... are kinda at odds!

05Blazer: 650 miles on a 94 NINJA? So that is it's 3rd tank of gas? You change that oil every 5 or 6 years?

It may be that Honda doesn't believe that synthetic is good for a break in period there has been speculation that it might hinder proper seating of rings ect...so probably the added moly of the factory Honda dino fill meets the requirements set forth by the engineers. I'll follow their advice since Honda has ALWAYS made a great engine.

Nope!

AMMOLAB I just bought the bike from a guy last summer who owned 2 since new. He sold them both to me. One has 16k on the clock and is now a parts bike and the other just sat in his garage since new because he could never get the carbs tuned properly. They were badly gummed up so I swapped them with the parts bike. Thing runs like a champ now. I ran some Gumout Regane High Mileage thru it and she purrrs. Only thing it needs is a new seal for the gas fill release as it hardened and now leaks when I ride it. Ive bene lazy so I havent gone out lookin for the seal yet. I may just have to sell them actually, I got a lot of medical bills to pay off right now.

Or 3.

What is the question here? Honda, one of the largest engine builders in the world, & known for their extreme quality says to leave the oil alone until the first scheduled oil change. Why would an individual feel that they know better? This is simply ridiculous.

I would like to add Honda provides a 100000km or 3 year warranty in OZ, those here that advise contrary to Honda's servicing regime are you prepared to underwrite the warranty ?
