NEW Honda ATF: ATF DW-1

I guess Honda has a new ATF called: ATF DW-1.

Has anyone heard anything about it? If so, is it backward capable with the ATF Z1?

I was going to do an ATF drain and fill on my '09 CR-V in 5,000 miles. I was just wondering if it was backward capable I would get that instead of the Z1. Any news about it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think the new fluid is only for new Hondas (2011+). I'm guessing it's a lower viscosity variant.

Looks like only 2011 right now and not backwards-compatible. Go with Amsoil ATF for now, works perfectly in both my Hondas.

My car is still under warranty, so I'm going to stick with the Honda ATF for now.
I have heard great things about the Amsoil ATF though, maybe I will try it after warranty.

It says that now. I posted that pack in July when it had nothing about it. And after the fact that I already did the drain and fill on my car.
I will be using it on the next one though.

Been plenty of posts here that it is backward compatible... It is a semi syn, whereas Z1 was a conventional atf.

Guys are using it in vehicles going back to 2001... You can use it anywhere that used Z1.

I guess no one reads previous posts. I posted this way back in July when this first came out. We all know it is backwards capable and can be used. Obviously since they are discontinuing Z1 the DW-1 is backwards capable.
Its amazing no one reads the old posts and see when they were posted.
