my machinest has recommended brad penn brake in oil for the first 1000 miles, anyone see a problem with this?

The Brad Penn oils I've seen VOA's/UOA's on weren't spectacular for stressed diesel applications, but for break in they should work fine. Be gentle on it then go for something a bit more stout. Have fun creating roadworks projects to stimulate job creation when you put your right foot down and rip up the black top!

WHen i said bradd penn what i really meant was joe gibbs breakin oil. sorry for being retarded.

and yes i plan on haveing a great time ripping up the asphault.

I have a quickserve account, the techs get back to me rather quickly. I can't really give you any of thier contact information. what I can do is give you a little direction to thier site. These fellows are very knowledgeable on pretty much everything Cummins related. I'm sure if you contact them someone will give you a factual responce with the information you provide them.

Here are some links, I hope it works for you.

I'm being repetitive.I would use the best oil Cummins recommends, which for your app is probably a good CI-4+. Like Delo 400 15W-40. Not the new LE variety.
