new first time syn

HI my dad just switched over to using syn oil 1st time in 50 some odd years My dad will be going by the OLM (2007 pontic SV6) I got him to switch after he saw what my car can do on syn
they only make 3 grades of oil 5-30 / 5-40 / 5-50
going to try to get some for VOA . How does it look compared to other "name " syns?? I am using PP for syn got hooked with 5 $ rebates / was using GTX dino

PP is very good stuff. Between pricing and availability, the big 3 Pennzoil flavours (Pennzoil conventional, Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Ultra) have a good following here.

I've been buying up PP as well whenever I see it at Walmart for $19 bucks a jug.

Maybe he likes the longer oil changes.
And maybe it gets cool in Montreal in winter!
Full Synthetic oil at appropriate viscosity is our best bet for cold weather flow and starting. Even more so when it's REAL cold out!

my pop is old school he remembers 1000 mile OCi's .His 2nd most favorite car was 62 chevrolet Impala with a straight 8 from a truck , timing was 5 degrees OTDC i asked him about it last year changed out the engine in 63 .Naw just MUCH better MPG! and longer OCI+ cant wait to see it in winter -20 to -35 give or take .... Winter is COLD here.
