New 'EcoPower' oil from S-K.....

Safety-Kleen has 'expanded' its oil line somewhat with the addition of 'EcoPower' conventional engine oil:

I'm sure it has the same specs as the 'America's choice' oils, its just interesting to see them try to push more consumer interest in this product.

Anyone ever seen these oils on store shelf in the U.S.? We don't get the specific 'EcoPower' brand up here; but almost all no-name oils up here are S-K oils; from this page it would look like they are 'Performance Plus' re-labeled oils.

On an asthetic note, I DO like the bottle design they are using for the EcoPower oil - has a very 'European' (think Motul) look to it. Much better than the other two 'boxy' types.....

Safety Kleen supplies us in the great white north with an abundant supply of our very own "SuperTech", sold by WalMart, and available here even in 20l pails. I own 2 x 20l. pails, and that has pretty well cured me of the oil hoarding bug. It's very easy to "just buy one more jug", but when it is "buy another 20l pail", then enough is enough already!!!

the state highway dept both prisons and the state hospital here use amercias choice.i worked there for 38 years and the shop there said they never had an oil related problem using the rerefined oil they also use it in all their lawn mowers and tractors.

I bought a case of the EcoPower 5W-20 and it's the current fill in my 08' Elantra.

Maybe I'll post a used oil analysis at the end of this OCI. Looks like they're blending it with some Group IV base.

If it's recycled then it's entirely possible to use less energy overall to produce.

For Canadians, this EcoPower oil is being promoted by the Canadian Automobile Association in the fall issue of the CAA Magazine and on their website:

According to the article Safety-Kleen has a $60-million state of the art used oil re-refinery in Breslau Ontario at which it re-refines more than 200 million litres per year.

Firestone has been using this oil for some time now. You have to ask for it, or they will fill with Kendall.

hmm ... well i won't promise a VOA or UOA but i picked up a case (12 QTs) for my 2.2L ECO engine ... how nice, eco oil for the eco engine.

sure was costly though. cost was about 49 dollars for 12 which is like 4 dollars. at that price the oil is same cost as most Full Synthetic oil from walmart.
