Just bought this yesterday from the local dealer in Amelia, Virginia. Mowed today and it did really well with plenty of power and no clumps of grass either. Has the Kohler Command Pro 173cc motor.

I have that mower. So far, it’s been great. Starts first pull. I did the break in oil change. I’m thinking about going to Mobil 1 15w50 since Kholer now has that 300 hour 50wt oil.

Yes, the motor has an oil filter. I just ordered some Baldwin B-7221 filters for mine yesterday and I bought a quart of Kohler 10W-30 at the dealer's shop who sold me the mower. I ran the first tank of gas through it (about one hour), drained the oil and topped it off with Rotella 15W-40. I haven't changed the filter yet. I'll run this tank through it and change the oil filter. I figure it should be broken in after 2 hours of mowing grass.

Cool! I didn't know these companies were still making a commercial walk behind. Is that cylindrical black box the air filter? I've always bought FWD since I'm cheap but Rear wheel drive seems to be better (reliable)?

The Kohler commercial motor is pretty heavy duty but the rest of the mower is mostly just standard MTD. It does have ball bearing wheels and yes, the cylinder-shaped thingy is an air filter. I got it as a scratch & dent special for $500 and the name of the shop is Vaughan's in Amelia Virginia. He has a lot of these for sale right now if anybody is in this area and interested.

That pusher looks like a boss! 8 years of my Dads box store pusher was toast but it had a lot of hours on it. I still plan to redo it...It's a brute branded mower. Yours is the real deal & in 8 years should just need a polish.

One thing I forgot to mention is that if the deck were to rust out, a new genuine MTD costs around $110 USD on Amazon. Parts seem available and reasonably priced.

I'd imagine they made that deck thicker metal than a box store cheapie? Good idea to put some wax on it if you can. You won't get the bottom but it could help with aesthetics/shown surface rust on the top at least.
