New Castrol Magnatec Dexos Gen3 API SP

Just bought this at my local part store. Plenty on shelfs and also sold in quart size.

I thought folks on here were saying Magnatec is dead, but its still sold here in Canada. Here's a few pictures attached.

It all meets the recent specs. Still has the intelligent molecules.

Castrol has gone thru so many product changes for the past several years. It is really kind of hard to keep up with what they currently even offer. They even changed ownership when British Petroleum Corporation spent billions to purchase the oil company back around 2002.

Today , it is actually kind of hard to find many of their products in local stores. Places here that have always had many Castrol products on shelves , HAVE NOT had many at all the past several years. Not exactly sure why that is? Too much confusion and strange , next to nothing advertisement at all any more.

Appears BP purchased Castrol and then just put it in some wacky kind of "cruise control" or something? Why?
For so many years, Castrol was known as one of the premier / high quality motor oil offerings from racing to highway use? Strange how far it has fallen since change of ownership.

I think it's up for sale again if I'm not mistaken.

Guess they're still using that Magnatec chemistry which is also found in the EDGE line. Notice they mention good for timing chain...
