First thanks for that phone number but unfortunately when I asked the phone operator to connect me to the tech or engineer department she said she couldn't as there was none and then told me to call Audi customer service for a better answer. I love this run around. This makes me not want another VW product!

Good grief. If it wasn't a big deal, they wouldn't have bothered making specification in the first place, right?

Yes, you'd think so right!! Why even read the manual and follow it to the Tee when they themselves don't give a rats [censored] about what happens to their customers and their cars. I bet they don't get too many informed customers when it comes to motor oil.

Yet, you think that's what they'd want, to protect their own interests and image in the long term. Then again, you'd think they'd want their own dealerships to be knowledgeable about the specified oils.

Each time someone has to mention a VW numbered spec here in reference to an Audi or a VW when providing advice, Helen should send an invoice to VW.

Bob hope and no hope of getting an answer from anyone in a car manufacturers tech department. Try their Audi forum in the UK, as they will know the best oil, although you will have to ignore a few dipstick remarks sometimes, like buy it from an Audi dealer.

Deven, don't get caught up in the oil is not approved by my manufacturer fiasco. Why would an auto manufacturer approve an oil? Think about it. It makes them look more professional, their engineering more precise, and hence people will bring their car to get serviced by the dealer ship long after warranty runs out.

But as you can see this is not the case. Dealer ships along with the customer service don't know anything.

Car manufacturers oil approval should be taken with a grain of salt. There not experts in petroleum engineering. As long as you use good quality oil your car will be fine.

As long as you change your oil on time your will be right. Good luck trying to get a response from Audi. Let us know if you do.
