I believe I need a new battery for my truck. There is a Walmart that is on my route, and it occurred to me to check their price on an Everstart - about $180 for an AGM that has the same 850 CCAs as the original. The Advance near me wants $265 for a Die Hard AGM with the 850 CCA. I often use NAPA because it is East Penn typically but their version is only 800 CCA and I am a stickler for original specs. Any reason not to get the Everstart? Thanks in advance.

PS- is there any way not to have the electronics go berserk for a day or so after replacement? I understand that a whole host of gremlins appear and then take a few days to resolve as the Hal 9000 reboots itself. Thanks again.

Walmart AGM’s. we have yet to have to warranty a single one in the fleet versus the MAX’s which all usually get warrantied once. the AGM’s i believe deal with the Texas summer heat idling all day better than standard FLA’s. not to mention facility/pipeline road vibrations.

Walmart AGM.
I have purchased Walmart AGM (made in Korea) a year ago, so far so good, and the four year free replacement warranty is reassuring.
Going to help a friend this weekend that needs a battery and I am taking her to Walmart for an AGM.

West Coast Walmart AGMs are made in Korea. East coast are made by East Penn. Central and mid west also appear to be East Penn from reports here.

The problem with WM's AGM is sometimes they're out of stock especially the popular H6, H7 and H8 When they're out of stock, you're out of luck. Or try othe WM nearest which could have the same scenario, You have to wait for the next shipment. Yes, WM's battery is cheap but most of the time they can't keep up with the demand.

Walmart AGM assuming it's an Easy Penn manufactured AGM.

I have two Walmart (East Penn) AGMs in my F-250.

The serial number of the Walmart battery should start with EP if it's an East Penn.

You can look online at least and not have to travel around store to store.

Both Walmarts near me were out of Rotella T6 5W40 but I could order with free shipping.

I check online first...in fact I order online (and get Rakuten cash back that way) and then pick it up at Customer Service and give them my core.

My son has a 2014 RAM with the eco diesel replaced the OEM after 5 years with a battery from batteries plus. After 5 1/2 years still going strong, knock on wood. Battery Plus currently has a sale on and batteries have a 4 year full replacement warranty.

What battery did he go with?

Mayne back in 2014 they were using better batteries but the OEM battery that came in my 2018 regular Hemi 1500 didn't last 4 years. Bought the truck brand new Christmas of 2017 and in October of 2021, just outta the blue, the battery was toast. Never had a single problem with it.

I replaced my original battery with an Odyssey 94R for giggles. My original battery still tested very favorably after 4.5 years and was donated to a friend’s project BMW.

Just picked up the Walmart H7 Platinum AGM for my sons Santa Fe (Original Hyundai battery in it. Almost 6 years.) $179, plus fees. About $212 out the door..... (had it delivered which cost an extra $10.) My son will bring back the old one for the $5 core charge.

Car started right up. 4 year warranty seems nice and our Walmart is pretty big and always busy, so, hopefully, if he needs to use the warranty they will have one..

Hope it lasts a long time for him. He is on a budget, so price was by far the best around us.

This is true. The last and most recent Walmart AGM battery I purchased, I mail ordered it though WM. I had time to do this of course, which was the kicker. It took a few days and came packed extremely well.

At the time I found WM's price to be about half of what parts stores wanted for that particular "size" battery.

The only problem with ordering is who manufactured it and how old is the battery. I have no issue with Walmart batteries as long as they were manufactured by East Penn.
