new ball joint not accepting grease

Hey everyone,

I just installed new control arms, tie rods and lower ball joints. The lower ball joint will not accept grease, the zerk fitting works as it should as I put grease through it separately already.

Should I just wait a few more miles and try greasing again, with hope that it has loosened up a little?

Are you trying to grease it with the suspension loaded or unloaded?

Is your grease gun tip/coupler/whatever in decent shape with a good seal?

Yes the gun is in good condition, and I tired greasing both before I installed it into the lower arm and once it was in.

I haven't tried it installed with suspension unloaded yet - do you think that might make a difference?

The brand is safety suspension parts, made in Osaka Japan - got it from the Mitsubishi garage

Jack the front end up and move the steering wheel lock to lock.

sounds suspicious - IF it wont take grease after unloading the weight from it

As others have said, try greasing it unloaded. If that won't work, try taking it to a garage that has a pneumatic grease gun and let them try it.

Yeah, taking it to get aligned tomorrow so will get them to try it
