Hopefully, the port injection is integral to its operations so all engine variants will have it. Port injection never made it to current VW EA888 TSI engines in the US, but was implemented in Europe.

What's so special about this "new" engine?

The new Hyundai - Gamma 1.6 T-GDI engine has pretty much the same numbers.

Hmmm: "The turbocharger helps the Miller-cycle engine to avoid power losses, even as it slashes fuel consumption by increasing the fuel-air mix in the cylinder after the intake valve closes."

Avoid power losses yes, but forcing MORE fuel-air mix in the cylinder (no matter where the intake valve is) does not explain slashing fuel consumption. That would have more to do with the right-sizing aspects that Audi's Hackenberg mentioned.

Read what I wrote again as it seems that you mist something...like the whole point...

Audi's new engine Hyundai - Gamma 1.6 T-GDI

Displacement 2.0 L 1.6L

BHP 188 @ NA 175 @ 5,500 rpm

Torque 236 lb-ft @ NA 195 lb-ft @ 1,500-4,500 rpm

Yup, I wonder if VAG will detract from their current XW-40 oil requirement and require 0W-20 50X oils. Will this be an admittance that their engines did not have tighter tolerances and needed thick oils all along?

A few foot pounds of torque are far more important to the average driver than peak horsepower.

So, one engine has 21% more torque over the other. Pretty much the same numbers? Hmm...

The Audi has a 25% advantage in displacement.

Judge all the numbers in respect to the CC and see what's what

And how is the Hyundai different....because it lasts as long and doesn''t cost as much? Spare us the uninformed car snob bull.

Well, OK, but in that case why did you even bring it up? Why not compare it to an engine of similar displacement?

Because the Gamma T-GDI engine is not available in the 2.0 trim yet.

Those brands are never cross shopped(in USA) so does it matter?
