Neo synthetic oils

Hi guys

I've done a search on here and also in the racing and UOA sections and have uncovered nothing about this brand of engine oil.

I was particualy interested in how this oil stacks up in a hard stressed Turbo EJ Subaru engine for those that have used it.

Any feed back however modest would be great

This was a VOA of their 10W40 oil a pretty good while back. It uses an add pack that most (all) oils don't use. You really need a VOA of the oil to know what the used oil analysis means if you decide that route.
I have used their ATF. I should have the used oil analysis back this week or next.
Their brake fluid is good.

tdi_rick has probably the most experience with them on this board.

It is a great oil but it makes UOA very difficult. They use a lot of lead as one of the anti-wear additivies and I think they use tin as well. Their oils are a bit pricey as $9-$13 a quart but they are 100% di-ester synthetic oils. They use much the same type of ester technology as the origanal Amsoil. I used Redline since it is also ester based and cost's less.

Couldn't lead used as an additive in motor oil present a possible cat converter poisoning issue, especially if the vehicle uses some oil. Isn't that why Ford and other vehicle manufactures are getting away from lead based bearing materials.

No they are not moveing away from lead bearing material because of cat poisoning. They are moveing away from lead due to hazardious material cost's. Same reason they do not routinely cadnium plate hinges anymore.Same reason chrome plateing is much weaker today then just a few years ago. Aluminum bearings still have some heavy metals like lead and cadium in them but at much lower levels then old school babit. Like wise the amount of lead in NEO's oils would never be enough to poison a cat in a normaly operateing engine. You would need to have seriously high consumption. If a car is burning thatmuch oil it wouldnot matter what additives are in the oil.
