Need to remove broken screw extractor

Just wanted to say that I'm glad I found this old thread for how to remove a broken screw extractor. I used a carbide drill bit (full carbide, not just carbide tipped) and it worked great! Thanks to Bluestream for showing the way.

I had this happen to me, i really don't use easy outs anymore, they snap without warning, you can't feel it start to give. I just use heat, or weld a nut onto it or knock it out with a punch and a bfh then retap the hole the next size up.
