Need some steel rim sizing help.

It appears I have a bent steel rim on the PS side rear of my !echo! and the DS tire is making a wah wah wah sound when I drive. I probably have 30K left on the tires.

To prevent "just buying tires" I think it would be prudent to buy two new rims and put tires on them, if that isn't the cause of the noise, I can put the originals back on and continue debugging the issue.

Not too many people have 15" steel rims, but I tracked down

Unique Steel Wheels, US made and about $55 from DT.

DTs online sizing said Unique 83s will fit

I guess my question is, do I have to worry about anything else? Probably need some lug nuts, but is the info I typed in above sufficient to order the correct ones? Not sure what the 41B means. I just want to make sure I'm not supposed to wise beyond the online ordering guide to determine the correct size.

You shouldn't need lug nuts if both wheels are steel. 99.999% take "acorn" nuts. Only with alloys do you need special nuts. You could worry about offset but realistically anything meant for FWD should be good enough.

I sold some saturn 15" steelies to a guy driving an echo so he'd fit snow tires.

If you entered your yr make and model over at discount tire, they should fit.....if you have any doubts, call or email them up, they are very helpful.

Kinda funny, cause my car isn't listed (88 Dodge Aries) but the 88 Plymouth Reliant K is......which is basically the same car/body style. 14X5.5 5-100/115 35B

I used to remember what all those numbers meant, but can't remember now....the 14 is obviously, the rim size....lol

I have found that plain jane steel wheels now days are made with a paint job that has little protection.

I use them and have two complete sets (4 for winter tires, and 4 for summer tires) for both of our vehicles, plus a full size spare for one of the cars.

When I get a new set of plain steel rims I make a paint box using a large cardboard box, cheap plexy-glass or clear plastic, and an area cut so you can push your hands through to spray paint a rim inside the box. I get some playtex gloves and add length to the arm part with tape and plastic bags. And use this set-up outside on the back porch to give each new rim a good heavy coat of Rustoleum flat black spray paint on both the side where the lugs mount, and the opposite side. And each time a set of tires is taken off of a vehicle I take them down to the local car wash and blast them off and then hit them with the car wash spray wax (for the tires). I give them a day or two to dry, and then touch up each one with the same paint. This keeps them looking like new.

I told one of my brothers about the need to spray paint new steel rims with the Rustoleum flat black, and he did not do it. The about a year later he told me that I sure was right about rims requiring paint. The ones he did not paint rusted big time.

Also, if you are keeping two sets of tires on rims, I knock the unused set down to (5 PSI +/- 1) for storage so the belts in the tires are not working against full pressure when not in use. And I store the tires on their sides, stacked one on top of the other, with three or four yellow house bricks supporting the bottom tire by having the bottom tire rest on those bricks so air can flow under the bottom tire.

As long as the nuts are acorn nuts, the wheel will center itself. The wheels on my first car didn't even have center hubs that mated with the hub flange on the vehicle...they were GM rally wheels. An example:

41 is probably the offset/ET/backspace.

Look at one of your OE wheels and see what it is stamped.

Unless the car is vibrating I would be amazed if the wheel was the cause of a noise assuming it is the proper fitment.
