Anyone here know what the OEM spec is for the oil pump pressure relief setting (psi) on the LS1/LS6 engines, and any info on oil volume output vs. engine RPM?
Also, anyone know what the OEM filter bypass setting valve (located in filter mount in engine block) is set to (psi)?
I've got the full blown factory service manuals, and can't find this info. Maybe someone like Hot Rod magazine or similar has divulged this info in some tech article (?).
The highest oil pressure I see on my oil pressure gage is ~65 psi at high RPM, so I'm assuming the oil pump pressure relief is around 70 ... that would give about a 5 psi drop across the filter at high volume flow.
