I watched the documentary "Under Our Skin" the other night. It's about Lyme disease. Very, Very scary.

It seems that tick borne illness is nearly an epidemic now. If not up to "epidemic" levels, it's level is certainly a problem that did not exist a few years ago.

Holy cow, I totally lost track of this thread and just saw I had a message asking for an update....

Yes 5 years later but.....

She survived and all is well...thank you for all the info I received

My dad was bit by a few ticks in 1982. His symptoms started showing up around the year after but he didn't realize they were the reason and he didn't get diagnosed until a couple years ago. He had to retire early because the neurological symptoms were getting so bad.

Here in Canada despite having lots of deer ticks, there are almost no doctors that know anything about the diseases. He had to go to California to get diagnosed and his Lyme doctor is in plattsburg new York. He is slowly getting better but it can take years to get back to normal.

I'm very glad that your wife is fine.
