Scouring the Web. Lots of reviews and ratings but yah' never knows fer' sure what or who to believe.
Looking at scanners in the $100 to $200 range.
Would prefer USB 2.0
Need at a minimum to be able to scan standard-sized 8-1/2 X 11 inch paper documents, pictures, etc.
Prefer a decent software set that accompanies the hardware but do not need photo manipulation software.
Doesn't have to output HUGE numbers.... what's theat term, I forgot already!!!! Oh, is it DPI?
I will mostly be scanning for the Web so will keep the "numbers" down so as to facilitate faster Web page loading.
Would like to be able to scan and output in TIFF format so a master document can be archived to use as needed. Can conver TIFF to JPEG with my software.
Reliability and longevity are nice. Quality output with minimal "artifacts" etc. also nice.
Step on up folks, assisted a baffled and bewildered bulbous bloke determine the best make/model scanner for his needs.
TIA!!!!
