As long as it hols gas and doesn't leak looks like a good buy . Your only cheaper route might be at a wrecker where there is one that was replaced recently you can pull but sometimes those guys pricing is a bit high .

I'm assuming you want to replace the vehicle soon , is the fuel pump original ?

I will have to use this van for quit a while. It does have the original fuel pump but i have a new one ready to go in.

I would replace anything suspect while you are in there IF you plan on keeping it more than 6mos.

I understand why you want to keep it, it seems a little nuts but it's probably next to nothing to keep running... at least that's the typical situation for keeping a car a long time.

Get ready to buy new fuel tank straps, half the time I have to drop a fuel tank, the fuel straps break during re-installation.

I was under the van 2 years ago and replaced all of the steel lines, fuel and brakes. Even soldered up a half dozen holes in the gas tank. But it is leaking again and i think i am beating a dead horse.

The old straps seemed fine 2 years ago very thick metal around 1/8 thick.

I put the new gas tank in, twice GRRR. After i had the tank in place and was ready to bolt the straps in, the last thing to do was reach up on top of the tank and connect the fuel pump. Naturally the connector on the $120 Bosch fuel pump did not match my van.

So i had to start from square one, remove gas tank, disassemble gas tank, disassemble new fuel pump, swap parts with old fuel pump, reinstall fuel pump in gas tank and put gas tank back in van.
