Yes when the US changes the speeds in the interstate to read maximum 100 what happens for the first month?

We still have some things in imperial up here like wood etc. Not like we can make a clean break to being 100 pct metric since you are our largest trading partner.

Last time I was in Canada I bought some produce and meats, and it was sold by the pound.

The real math is even more complex than that.

Half of that "small amount" is for marketing! Considering that and feel good effects, you will need to use twice as much to be one third more effective. lol
 
Agreed. Just add the 2.5 oz. Timing again is everything. If you haven’t been born yet you might grow up metric. If you have already arrived you’ve missed the American metric train. There’s always BITOG to help you figure it out. If you’re bad at math neither system will help you.
 
The math is the same.......

The only difference is the imperial units have stupid multipliers that are different for every unit conversion instead of being base 10 like everything metric.

But the all those metric people who think their measurements are superior get into the electrical world and mess everything up by using units of measurement that make you have to remember more stupid multipliers to get numbers that have actual meaning.

Then again when you get into any precision in SAE units it is back to base 10 measurements. Unless you are making a hole then you go back to fractions.....or arbitrary numbers.....or letters...... But we could also go to projectiles that are measure in gauges that are different that the other gauges we use or calibers.

I am a chemistry professor and have worked as a bench chemist for a long time-I still do lab work as often as I can. I am "fluent" in the SI system along with a lot of common units that aren't necessarily part of either system(pressure is the fun one, since the SI unit is Pascals, but aside from PSI, mmHg/Torr, ATMs, and Bars are quite common) but also of course the imperial system.

I preach this to my students all the time. What matters in any problem solving, whether on an exam or in the real world, is consistency of unit use, not the units themselves.

When you're doing the math, multiplying or dividing by 12 or 16 or 5280 isn't any different from multiplying or dividing by 10, 100, 1000, etc. Yes, you may be able to do the latter in your head, but the basic set-up is the same for both and the solutions work out the same.
