I have a vintage car that I cant storage in garage ( too much junk in garage that I havent had any time to clean it up yet ). The car had to be park out side , my neighborhood do not allow to have car cover in a car that park out side. Anyway if I wash it I say 2 time a month, will it help keep the paint last longer compare to not wash it at all . What I mean is will wash the car help the paint last longer ? beside make it look good.

Clean your garage out, and put the car inside. That's the only way to keep a vintage car nice, also you don't really want to wash it to often, water is not its friend!

Yeah try to get it in or rent another garage. Sometimes you need to have the older cars out due to desired use or some other situation, I get it... But every day water is condensing someplace in the AM and rain is also falling on it getting in the doors.

The best I can say is to get it Krowned or equivalent rustproofing, so that the moisture doesn't have as much of a chance at damaging it... Then get a good sealant with UV protection and keep applying it.

Washing and wax the car every few months. Keeping a good coat of wax on the paint is the most important thing you can do to protect the paint. My 2007 Mazda 3 is daily driven and sits outside. I wash and wax every few months and the paint looks like new. I attribute this to always having a sacrificial layer of wax on the paint. I've seen other cars from 2007 or a few years newer that have never been waxed and the paint would be faded or the clear coat is peeling.

Take the time to clean out the garage or put the car in storage. Even with the paint cleaned and waxed its still exposed to the elements and the car will degrade in places you cannot see.

If the cover is water resistant. I keep a car under a cover in the summer months because where it sits, it gets direct sun in the PM. But Im meticulous and only allow the cover to be on if Ive cleaned the surfaces via wash/dry to be pristine, and then I leave it on.

Take a soft towel to wipe off morning dew a few times between 2x/week washes...that dew will collect dirt and grime that will do more to compromise the wax and finish than will the sun....I do that on Kitacamry here in south Florida and dew and rain still beads 6 months on ONE WAX JOB...

I agree.

Absolutely. Clean that sucker out and put the car in there. Ask yourself which is a. more important to you or b. worth more, the stuff cluttering your garage or the car?
If you are forced to keep the car outside you'll want to apply a paint sealant rather than a wax to give it a chance of fending off the elements.
