Just received my Beck/Arnley TPS from RA. I wanted to ask if the numerical code “010416” on the label translates to January 4th, 2016? The bag that the TPS came in looks very aged and brown.
After the pandemic, I agree.. Post-COVID stuff isn’t, well… the best lolI would think the part itself would have a date code, if one exists.
I wouldn't have an issue with a sealed BA part.
Could also translate to 2001-Apr-16. Or 01-Apr-2016.
In the rest of the world, we're the weirdos who put the day between the month and year.
A marking on the part would be the ultimate authority, and easy to decipher if it has one of the kind that uses does to fill in a field or clock, but this one might be too small for that kind of marking.
Yes the box is squishy and not firm like a newer production box. I’ve searched on Google for a picture of the box with the given part number but can’t find any to cross reference and know if my sensor is new older stock or newBox from the top looks pretty beat. Any other signs? Is the cardboard squishy?
The funny thing is I paid the extra $10 not to buy the close out one and I have a feeling they sent it to me anywaysThat seems unusual that they'd leave the original Toyota part number on the part. Usually they'll scratch the OEM numbers from the part if they're from the original supplier for trademark and copyright reasons.
I think that thing has some years on it. It is in their closeout bin and that usually means it's old stuff. However, that doesn't mean it's not a good and serviceable part. It has a 1-year warranty so save the receipt.
I agree… I just hope it’s a 2016 and not a 2001 production codeConsider it a bonus that it was made pre-2020.
