Need help figuring out what this generator is.

I believe its basically a kubota a2200 generator. Engine looks the same, it has some of the same stickers on it and the generator and frame portion are similar plus the air filter area is identical.

If it were mine, I would get it running nice, and sell it on Craiglist for $100.

No way, no how, am I using a flat head, obsolete, with impossible to find parts for engine, as a backup generator. That thing, while well built, will suck fuel like no tomorrow. It will consume 100% more fuel than a similiar OHV engine.

Its cool, but its obsolete, and impossible to find parts for.

If the generator power head is in good shape, its probably high quality, good stuff. It would make a cool project to swap a later model OHV engine onto it, if possible.

Once i find the proper spark plug i am going to leave it as is. I only bought it because it was $10. I may use it for camping or for powering a hedge trimmer around the yard. I do have an older honda eb5000 generator that i need to fix up to use when the power goes out. A tree branch i guess fell on it and bent the frame and sort of smashed the panel with the plugs but it does run. So yes i know its very hard to find anything for this onan generator but for me its more of a garage decoration/ occasional use item.

I'm liking the harbor freight 6.5 hp motor swap. currently on sale for $99.95, if the driveshaft will mate properly. It'd be a cool small output gennie with a smaller engine to reduce fuel burn. I'll bet that head has a lot more hours left in it.
