hi, i'm going to be changing the differential oil in my 09 challenger r/t 6-speed.

the owners manual calls for "mopar synthetic gear lubricant 75w90 (api gl-5) or equivalent (with mopar friction modifier - hypoid gear additive)"

what brand would you guys recommend? royal purple? amsoil? stick with mopar? anyone else?

thanks in advance.

Excellent fluid that performs for a LONG time.

ok thanks, does the amsoil severe gear oil come with the "hypoid gear additive"?....whatever that is :)

It has some in it but you may still have to buy a small bottle to add more. It is the limited slip additive for the limited slip/posi-traction diff you have.

ok, thanks guys...i just ordered the amsoil severe gear oil and the slip lock additive they offer. i wanted to be safe than sorry. would it hurt to add the slip lock regardless if it "chatters" or not?

If you want something awesome, look into Motul Gear 300.

Otherwise:

Amsoil SVG 75w90, 75w110
Red Line 75w90, 75w140
