Need a reliable portable tire inflator

The Milwaukee M18 is king for battery inflators. I've used it quite a bit and only hit the duty cycle a few times.
I also have the Dewalt inflator, its slow but gets the job done.
I have both the M12 and M18 inflators. They are awesome. The M18 is obviously better, but the M12 is the perfect size to toss in the trunk on a road trip.

Here is one some of you guys never thought of and don't need to know about unless you drive a semi.

Attach the glad hand to the red airline/glad hand on the truck, set the parking brake-yellow valve by pulling on it, push in on the red trailer supply valve and inflate your tire(s).

Another +1 for the Milwaukee M18, but only makes sense if you're already in the Milwaukee ecosystem, as batteries tend to add up over time when you're changing manufacturers. I keep the M18 in a swing-out case in my truck bed, along with a Noco battery charger... has come in handy many times with helping folks on the side of the road.

Add one of these to make it even easier to place onto the tire valve: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWNQHPSF

Just bought this at WM for the wife's Subaru and her mountain bike. It is the medium duty unit of the line. It's pretty slick as you set the target pressure and it shuts off when it reaches it. When I inflated her car tires for the colder days ahead, I set it at 35psi and after it shut off, I verified with my pencil gauge, and it read 35psi on the nose.

BTW this replaces an older model Slime light duty unit that lasted 17 years - and the motor was good but the hose dry rotted and split.

I had a slime that lasted at least 13 years before it finally died it was great so I decided to buy another slime.

Well the one I bought is the same exact one you just showed and it lasted a handful of air ups before the piston inside came apart, was able to fix it and then a few more air ups the hose broke.

They don't make them like they used to.

Plot twist, what if you got an air tank with hose and chuck you could take down to the trailer? It'd be reliable as all get-out.
Yeah, I have a 2 gallon compressor light enough for that and just leave 12V compressors in the vehicles …

Hmm. That is not good. I hope mine lasts longer than that! I did see the air intake grille on the bottom can pick up road debris. So I am setting it on cardboard. Question - can these be oiled?

I have one each of both model 18v Makitas, they work great.I would stay in my battery line, whatever that is.There are cars with no lighters,so the car battery clips are an option

Totally agree on the Milwaukee M18, if you're already in their ecosystem. I had the M12 and thought it was great until I got the M18. Vast improvement, but you'd never know it unless you used them side-by-side.

What current batteries do you have?
If you have any of the major battery power tools (Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ridged, Ryobi) All make good tire inflators
This has been my go to for several years.

agree the Dewalt is way better than I thought it would be. It's on the big side, so it might not be practical for everyday carry in smaller cars.
