Okay, get your mind out of the gutter. I'm talking a lunar photo.
Not sure if you've been seeing this in the news, but tonight (6-22) or tomorrow morning (6-23) should have a full moon that is the brightest that we've seen for a few months, thanks to the moon being close. I posted a thread about lenses for a camera a couple of days ago, but it looks like it will be cloudy tonight in my state and I won't be able to see it.
So here is what I want: I want a photo of the full moon tonight. Would anybody here be able to take a good shot? It would be one of those photos where you can see the craters and scars and the full detail. The photo will be enlarged on a 8" X 11" sheet and the full detail needs to be seen. I'll pay you for your time, or perhaps somebody here already has one already on a camera memory card.
Here is how I need it: It cannot be on 35mm film. (I doubt that's a problem here, but I guess I need to clarify) I need it already on a small memory card and you could snail mail it to me. The reason I need it on a camera memory card is that my son will be learning to use the program Gimp and this would be where he downloads it from the memory card to the computer. I can assure you that he is not doing this for any kind of profit, but for a digital photo class that he has to take. I'll pay you for your postage, memory card and your time, within reason of course. I'm not sure if you want to take one where the moon is just rising or if it is in the middle of the sky, perhaps that can be your decision. Hopefully, this notice will give somebody enough time to prepare for this.
PM me please. Thanks.

does it have to be tonights? You can have the one I posted up before. It was handheld and not on a tripod, but came out decently, and I can give you the original.

Some photoshopping will make the craters pop - that is as much post-processing as anything.

Unfortunately I dont have access to my 300mm tonight...

There are some good ones on google images and public domain ones the US government has taken.

Since your son is using GIMP, what you really need is a RAW file, not a jpg. You will have to have the UFRAW plugin which you can download. You might have better luck on the dpreview forum.
The file can be emailed to you.

Here is the one I took with a Pentax K-5
