Hey guys I need some help finding a good grout sealer for a new shower I'm having installed. The market runs the gamit and I'm having trouble sorting through it all. It's a simple install with porcelain tiles and sanded grout and I know I need to do something, but what? Open to any product suggestions...
One promising candidate is Stone Tech Heavy Duty grout sealer.
Any comments, observations, endorsements etc. greatly appreciated!
TIA, DV.

In a shower application, you're going to get moisture into and beyond the grout no matter what you do. IMO you want to let it breathe. I'd read up on some of the tiling, masonry, etc. sites. IMO, you can talk to 3 'tile guys' and get 3 different opinions on this topic.

Sealer from a tile store will usually be superior than from HD or Lowes. More than one coat may be needed - use a small artist brush to apply, let dry a while (overnight or longer) between coats and before use.

stone tech is good, use a sponge, wipe the entire shower down, tile and grout, let dry, repeat, i do 4 applications, then once a year.

My tile guy recommended "grout boost" from HD to mix in with the grout instead of water. However like someone mentioned, moisture is going to be thru... The floor isn't an issue because theres a PVC membrane below the mortar bed. On the walls, I taped and thinset them and applied RedGard.
