This has me stumped (which isn't difficult).

When I run NAV (2003 edition) it runs up the files in normal fashion ..flashing by ...counting up ...UNTIL it hits Thunderbird and the email related files. It slows to a crawl. I even make sure the folder that it slows down on is empty of any big files

C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Application Data\Thunderbird\default something\...\templates.sbc

From there on out ..the system crawls. After 6-8 hours it still hasn't processed all 810,000 files system wide. It ZIPS through the first 50k files.

I've emptied the contents of the reported file/folder to no avail. I've done disk clean up and have recently defraged.

When MS Giant comes on (which is does via schedule at 2a.m.) it is blazing by Norton in going through the hard drive ..albeit at a lower rate then normally due to Norton taxing the system.

Any thoughts??

TIA!

have it skip those files ("doctor it hurts when I do this", "don't do that")

or

update NAV to a newer version?

That's over 3/4 of the hard drive (skipping the slow files). The thing is ..I can't peg one event that started this symptom. Obviously no one else has run into this.

I will probably upgrade ..but since there was nothing wrong with NAV before (whenever before was

) I hope the new one doesn't have the same issue.
