I have always used Purolater Premium PlUS filters, but have just purchased a few Nascar Select filters from NAPA. I hear these are WIX filters and supposed to be good. Does anyone know if these are as good as the Purolater Premium PlUS filters?

Thanks

Purolator doesn't advertise a "Premium Plus" filter any more. They only have the standard "classic" filter, and the PureONE. Was there 3 levels of Purolator filters at one time? ... is the now "classic" filter the same as the "Premium Plus", but just renamed?

they are a wix filter. they are built by baldwin for napa, just as wix and fram are. baldwin just builds it to napa or wixs' or fram specs

You need to get your facts straight, Wix is not made by Baldwin. We might purchase some filters from Baldwin or Purolator or Donaldson etc., Just as they purchase from us. But for you to imply that all Wix AND NAPA filters are made by Baldwin is a flat out LIE. Not to mention that you've made that statement more than once on BITOG forums.

Get your facts straight.

Along the lines of Pete C.'s comments, Baldwin does not make Frams either!

Purolator Classics are Purolator Premium Plus... same filter, new box.

Fram was owned by Allied Signal. Now I believe they are owned by Honeywell.

Allied Signal and Honeywell merged and took on the Honeywell name.

Thank You!

Oh yeah, now I remember. Thanx. It's almost as bad as trying to keep up with Purolators ownership.

I never did either until I asked. They gave me one that was dusty enough he wiped it down before handing it to me to look at.

If it says NASCAR on it the filters must be the best!!!It is a lower line than the Gold filter line. Still a good filter.

They are a higher flow filter less restrictive and less media. NAPA states media T-52 Synthetic/Cellulose Media

scroll down towards bottom of study... Study states that NASCAR has 23% less media than Purolator and 17% less than NAPA Gold

I bought 2 of these filters 6 months ago for my stash, from my local NAPA. I discovered them, looking at NAPA's online webiste. Thier kinda priicey, abuot $6 a filter...and had to be special ordered. The box advertises it as spin flow technology..the oil swirls or spins through the media, something to that degree.
Havnt had a chance to use it yet..oh and they appear to have Nitrile ABDV, not the orange synthetic material.

They do not appear to feature a bypass valve. At least not Wix's trademark bypass valve that sits on the base plate end.
