Pastmaster, "Bubba" in Japanese is: "Bubba-san."

with it being a toyota they will probably be able to run the entire season on the same engine! they'll quickly become known as the only NASCAR team to never have a mechanical failure during the race.

Look at the way things are now: Win on Sunday, lay off 10,000 on Monday.

So why would Toyota want to associate themselves with Nascar? Both they and Honda are already winning the war...what is to gain?

NASCAR race represents many in US, specially the south and its not a bad advertising platform for Toyota or HONDA and also to show that its closer to US than the names suggest.Plus NASCAR is pure unadulterated fun unlike F-I which is a restricted club, anyone with some backing can join NASCAR and do good, not possible in F-I, hope NASCAR would make Toyota and Honda launch a mid level RWD car.

You almost had me there Gurkha.

Thanks for the chuckle...

LT VIBE, I just looked at Darryl Waltrip's Honda/Volvo Site.

The Honda store is open on Sunday, 12-5pm.

Atta Boy Darryl, Commentating and $elling, on Sunday, no less. You got the WINNING Attitude. I am not trying to be wiseguy, but admiring your business drive. Good for you. I wonder if he will get a Toyota Dealership, soon?

Toyota has already developed a 358cid carbureted V8 for NASCAR. It's being used in the Toyota Tundra trucks currently competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

True, though there are some changes. this series requires a flat tappet setup where the craftsman truck series allows rollers.

There is an up to date picture somewhere of the 07 racer somewhere. Toyota is unveiling a new 2007 camry model which looks totally different. The show car toyota is the model initially given to nascar about a year ago. I can;t find it again but it's out there.

OK,

You guys have forced me into bringing out the manly man race car...diesel, no less...and you have to sit "outdoors"...

PS...please disregard the Shell decals...the Elvish decals just weren't ready in time what with all the creative energy that goes into oil formulation...

What kind of Rotella T, will this AUDI, be using?
By the BOSCH Sponsership, does it have Glowplugs? Presume the Injection Pumps, Injectors, etc., Electronics etc., are all Bosch?

Can't wait to see what it will do at LeMans.
German racecar you know...

pastmaster,

I could only guess, intelligently I think, but not a sure thing, at responses to your question. This will tell you about as much as I could. In the past, I believe Shell has provided hydrocracked oils either alone or in blend for their racing oils. Don't know what they will do with this diesel. I do know it has dual particulate filters so they may use a low-SAPS formulation in order to severely test formulations for the street low-SAPS that are being marketed in Europe.

Thank you the race site, I will read it in detail. It's a fascinating racer.

Too bad we can't have a response from Shell Engineers, on what the problems they must deal with on this particular racer, and the benefits to us and the Rotella Oils that may be marketed to us.

I think getting that kind of info would border on the miraculous. I'm still betting it is a Group III or Group III mix; I believe that is the direction Shell has chosen to go with their race oils (even Formula 1)...now to find out what it is they like so much about Group III...could be a best of both worlds thing (dino and syn)

Andy H...speed tv i think had shown a camry testing somewhere and it had the front end of the new for 2007 camry. They want to use the same nose as the car that is sold at the dealer. They showed the race car before the 07' camry was to be released to public eyes. The car i saw did not have the show cars nose.
