Yep many are made in china. Mann + Hummel owns Wix and Purolator now. So fewer makers so will start to see more filter with different names but made in the same plant.
M+H was 50% with Bosch in purolator, hence why you saw a lot of Purolator filters in black with Bosch name on them. But they bought out Bosch's 50% share.
My mom's Vue had a China made Pro Select 27082 and it seems to be a quality filter, the Ecotec engine seems to have sizing issues with some "correct" filters. This one did not, and I will be getting the Supertech (re-packaged Pro Select from what it looks like) oil filter for her car from now on.

For that Ecotec, I'd use the OE Hengst E630H/AC Delco PF457G/458G, Purflux L264A, or Mann HU 6007x
FWIW, even the regular Wix 57082/Napa Gold 7082 is Chinese now. However, the Platinum/XP 47082/57082XP is still from Poland.
