Hey guys,
Got another question for ya. I decided to take a look under my Hyundai to see what filter they had put on when I got the oil changed a couple weeks ago, and it looks like it's a NAPA Proselect. From doing a search, it doesn't look like it has too good of a reputation. Is using this filter taking years off of my car's life?

I doubt it. From what i've gathered on bitog, almost any filter out there will provide good enough protection for your engine. It's just that some are willing to spend a few bucks more for extra piece of mind.

The NAPA ProSelect is an adequate filter, nothing wrong with it, just that there is better stuff out there. NAPA Golds are the shiznit though. Ask if your oil change place would mind if you brought your own filter, then get a Gold. Some places do mind because they don't want to lose the markup on them.

There is no Pro Select line of Wix Filters. Only Proselect filters manufactured by Wix to NAPA specs for NAPA. nAt a minimum they meet the vehicle manufactures minimum standards.
