Thanks guys, yes it's got 10,000 miles on the full flow, but I'm running a MotorGuard M100 bypass filter. The M100 keeps the oil pretty clean and happy to see no contaminants in the filter, so 10,000 mile filter changes it will be

Yes even with the vanes in the filter rippled it really looked pretty clean and it wasn't a dark black like we see so often.

I thought of using a synthetic filter and running it 30,000 miles like I do on my Cummins, but for 4-6 dollars CAD, you can't beat the price for paper filters.
