Few days ago, did an oil change for winter, on my 95 neon. I used a NAPA proselect 21348 filter, and had NAPA conventional 5w30 in thier. SO! Hacked it open, too see how it performed. The top part of the media going around the filter media, was sagging! Noticebly collasped ratther. Ive cut open many differnt kinds of filters, and never saw this before. What does it mean?

Sorry pablo, dont havea camera: ( The media going around the filter, where it screws on, was kinda collapsed..think of putting yuor fingers on the medida, and pulling across on it, not enough to tear it off the filter, but enough to show visable collapsing...that should give you an idea, what it looks like.

Similar to an hourglass shape compressed in the middle? A few people have noted seeing this on cartidge type filters, and I have a feeling it is common with spin on filters also, but the media is rarely seen since used filters aren't often cut open.
