napa pro select oil filter

just changed filter on a ford tarus after 3500 miles.Cut fiter open media looked clean but the paper was so brittle it crumbeled just by touching it .Was wondering if this is a sign that this filter shouldn't go any longer than this. part # is 21372 replaced with napa gold should this one last any longer?

That will happen over time. Try a filter with a different media.

I had a problem like yours. I had it on my car for 1 1/2 months 3000 miles. It tore very easy, much more easy than the Super Tech or the Premium plus I had.

What brand filter became brittle? PN 21372 doesn't sound familiar for a Tauri.

Napagold should have no problem going 4 months.
