Greetings:

I was looking at the air filter for my wife's Jeep on the NAPA website and they listed the NAPA Gold and the Proselect. The pictures of both look the same and the description does not say what the difference in quality is. Does anyone know what the difference is? The "Gold" model costs twice as much!

They claim NAPA Gold Air Filters Last 40% Longer & Holds 53% More Dirt. It should be a better quality air filter. I am using the Gold filters in all of my vehicles. Wix makes decent filters.

I saw that on their website as well; I just wonder where the Proselect actually falls in that spectrum. It didn't say anything like "25% more efficient than the leading filter" or anything like that.

Since these usually last me about 30K miles I'll probably stick with the NAPA Gold or Wix as the cost is negligible over that many miles - especially if better filtering efficiency is what you get.
