That's no surprise. I did get lucky the last time I stumbled across the NAPA filter sale. Their regular price for my G37 is far more than what I pay for Wix from my other suppliers, well over $10 a piece. Whatever sale I stumbled across I bought some for around $3 a piece. Obviously, it was more than 30% or whatever Snagglefoot mentioned.

Not even sure what you mean by that. In addition to not paying attention to the wide range of oils (VOA & UOA) and filters (virgin & used) I post up for the board, which could be construed as merely "anecdotal" by someone possessing such a clearly superior intellect as yourself, you choose to ignore not only industry experts, but also filter manufacturers' responses themselves when it doesn't agree with your viewpoint. I certainly don't blindly stick to one line and repeat it over and over like you do... who's the parrot?

I also think that it's quite humorous that the brand that so heavily pushes the thread-end bypass you love is also one that consistently has a handful of filter lines that tear pretty frequently.

Last thing I'd want on a filter mounted vertical with the base down is a base end bypass valve.

One thing for sure, "Pinoak" has given up all pretense, that should be obvious by now.

Feels like attack of the clones sometimes.

So with some of the Motorcraft filters with base end bypass, does the tear count as a second bypass, most normally located near the dome end anyways?

edit-sorry, I asked a question that I didn't realize I had already asked earlier in the thread and it was answered, oops.

How about for extended OCIs? Nothing crazy, but say 10-12K miles in passenger cars using synthetic oil. Can a GoldNAPA keep up with the Fram XG? Here's what NAPA says:
Quote
For OE oil change intervals that recommend longer than conventional oil change intervals, or when using synthetic blended oils, select our premium GoldNAPAFiltersâ„¢.
