I purchased a case of filters from Napa and one filter came withe the red anti drain back valve and the other 11 filters where with the black anti-drainback. My question is the black anti drainback valve silicone or rubber. The box says Napa gold but on the cans they just say Napa.

Silicone can be made in any color and black is the cheapest. Usually a silicone ADBV is some other color. Likely only NAPA can answer your question.

I think if they were napa gold they would say so right on the label.

The 2 I have in the garage are black can, red anti-drain valve, and say napa gold on them.

May be asking the obvious, but are they all the same P/N?

Usually all my NG have the red silicone ADBV,may want to question that at your napa store, return in necessary.

+1 Could someone show me a filter with a black silicone adbv. I suppose there might be a rare exception somewhere, but I've never seen one.

Was this listed as a 'closeout" or 'discontinued' item purchase?

No, I ordered it directly from Napa. The original Napa Gold with the red antidrainback valve says part# 3899 on the filter and these new filters with the black adbv says 3899 on them also, I am just wondering if they switched to a nitrile rubber valve instead.
