Picked up a new-in-box Napa 1334 at the thrift store earlier, IIRC it's equivalent to an ACDelco PF1127 in size, it has the same size baseplate and gasket as a Fram 7317 but the can and actual filter overall are much bigger. I checked and it does cross reference with the 7317.

I was wondering if anyone else has tried running one of these as an oversize substitute for a 7317 before. And if I did use this filter as a substitute will the larger overall size increase my oil capacity?

Yes it fits, yes it increases oil volume by about 3-4 ounces. IIRC the 1334 is actually the real x-ref for the 3593A filter; 7317 is the baby of that thread/mount size. I always used to upgrade my 7317 filter applications to the XG3593A, until I started buying the Napa Gold 7055 for those cars.
