Bought it for him in March. Car is in excellent condition. Maintanence history is unknown. Seems to have been well maintained. Did 2 short oci's with Mobil 5000 5w30. Now running M1 5w30. Replaced air filter, pcv valve, plugs, wires, belts, hoses, flushed rad and filled with GO-5 coolant and flushed the power steering. Now for the trans. I picked up 12qts of Castrol ATF+4 and a Wix filter kit. Owners manual says trans service at 100k. I don't think so. Cars mileage is 67k. Total ATF cap is 9qts. I think I am going to do a pan drop, replace the filter and gasket, and then a flush (I mean fluid transfer). Any thoughts on this. Some of my buds have suggested just doing the pan drop. I see no problem doing the above, the mileage is not that high. Any thoughts or ideas?

I would take off a trans cooler line and let it pee into a bucket with the engine running until the trans runs dry and then turn off the engine.

Refill the transmission with 4 litres, start it up and then add the remaining fluid as needed.

Do this when the car is cold (sitting over night) and it will not damage the transmission and will allow you to get the most fluid out.

If you intend to change the filter as well do it after the trans is empty but before filling with the 4 litres.

This will ensure only clean fluid is in the trans and will be the best option IMO.

Good buy, very reliable engines...

Glad to hear you like it.

I think it more likely is a pretty strong runner, but hardly 'fast'.

But everything is relative. And all you have to do is get the boost up and it will be VERY fast!
