Purchased in 1978 for $1,600. Dad had it first then all four children drove it off and on over the next 40 years or so. Completely rust free which isn’t common for these cars and we live in WNY. Had one repaint and we changed the interior from black to tan. I still drive it in the summer. It has 60,000 original miles.

How about the wheels? Were the original Rostyle wheels replaced at some point?

Either way, nice car and great story! MG Midgets are fun little cars.

Yes they were replaced about 15 years ago

Do tall folks fit in these cars?

The late 1500 Midgets(Triumph engine) are a bit snug for this tall fat guy(6'2", now 230lb but was more like 290lbs the last time I tried to drive one) although the earlier ones(1000 and 1250 A-series engines) are a bit roomier.

The MGB is-relatively speaking-huge. I can't push the clutch all the way on mine unless I scoot the seat forward a few clicks from back. It has more legroom than just about any other vehicle I've ever driven.

Beautiful, but I may be biased. I think the British Leyland baby brother cars, the Midget and Spitfire, are some of the most fun you could have on four skinny wheels with the edge going to the Midget.

I believe your steering wheel is the dealer optional 'sport' wheel as '78 would have had the four spoke molded safety one IIRC.

Enjoy her, the nice weather is here.

Nice fleet, my Better Half has a '22 Wrangler Sport as one of her fun cars.

My ex Midget which I had through the 90's and is still in the family.
