I asked Widman in a PM about the accuracy in using his viscosity chart when extrapolating to extreme temp's and the following was his response:

" The PP depressants are the main factors that distort it, so the farther you go below around 10F (-12C), the more it will vary, with the synthetics staying pretty much inline and the cheaper base oils with more PP depressants will thicken up more"
