Later today the Saturn will be getting an oil change. I bought a jug of maxlife nexgen a purolator filter and a quart of mmo.I want to put some mmo in my oil how much should I choose to use. Also I bought the supplies at Walmart and the jug had a coupon on it and it for 5 bucks off at the cash register. Making it a dollar cheaper that regular maxlife. I figured why not it helps keep nexgen alive and it saves me a Buck. Mind you ibdidnt check the coupon expire date because I was just buying it. So I go to the register and its 3 months expired. They wouldn't except it. I went to the service desk and they wouldn't except it. They said it's expired and we didn't put that on our bottles of oil . So I said. Let me show you the bottles since you don't believe me. Well the lady has no interest so at that point I said let me speak to the store manager. I argued to get to speak with him and finally did and showed him the mistake. He made it right andbthen made the guy in tle pull the coupons. I told the manager I don't want anyone to lose their job because the economy is bad and its hard to find new work but its people like that that are rude and disrespectful that are keeping good people from getting jobs. Bad people get the jobs and good people don't basically. I told him that he needed to straighten his people out. I hope he listened because they aren't helping his store any. And customers don't want to deal with rude people. Makes me wonder why I keep going back to Walmart. O I know why because the mom and pop store closed Down!! OK I'm done . Thanks guys

Leave the MMO on the Walmart shelf. You do not need it. While there is a slight chance it might help with some cleaning, it cannot help the additive pack in the Nexgen oil which would need to be done to "keep nexgen alive". Nexgen will be fine on its own.

Why did you not go with the Amsoil EURO 5w-40 for the breakthrough in oil usage?????

Ok, leave most or all of the MMO out of the oil on this car, especially if you have some fuel dilution or even suspect it. Smell the drained oil for a hint of gas.

Why? Go over to Saturnfans and read the thread on the guy who put in 24 Oz MMO with his oil change & his Saturn engine seized up shortly after. He did some investigation and that looks like it was it.

Leave the MMO for the Gas on this car.

My vote goes for using 20% MMO when you change the oil. Have used MMO for years and years with good results.

I use in in the gas @ every fill too.

mmo has a really bad vi so it is about 3cst at 100c

its ok as a fuel add but wont do much for your engine oil esp after 10 other chemical treatments..

btw are these posts just to troll now? Since people seem to be responding negatively to your excessive posts and you never follow any advice?

if you want a decent oil additive that makes the oil last longer
try LC20 or similar.

I'll let you in on something that I learned (and many others probably have) don't count on a Walmart manager to straighten out anything. If you got what you needed, that's the best you can do. Been there, bought the T-Shirt.

Valvoline MaxLife is a good oil. For the additional additives such as the seal swellers (for your rear main seal leak) to work properly, you do not want to dilute the MaxLife with anything else.

Good for you! I would have argued that too. If the coupon is on the product in THEIR store, they should honor it. It is not your problem the coupon is expired. They did the right thing after all that drama - gave you the deal and pulled the coupons off the product. Not sure why it takes an act of Congress to get some stores to fix their issues....

Yea and its Walmart it isn't like that 5 dollars is going to break them. Also it ended up being loose oil pan bolts and not the rear main I tightened it up and all is good

Impossible, MMO is the nectar of the Gods!

I'd add 1/2 quart of MMO to the oil fill.

When the oil needs to be topped off, use the rest of the MMO, that way, it will do some longer term cleaning.

Don't bother adding the MMO at the oil change, just wait until you need to top off and use it that way, it won't help.

It was good that you persisted on the coupon deal. They made the error and if they want to satisfy the customer they need to make good on it. I agree these rude people wouldn't have their job if not for the customer, and there are very few jobs to be had now. That person should be penalized to make them appreciate their luck.

Meh, IDK if that would happen to this app, but w/e. He's throwing money at the car in the form of oil but wants the cheap stuff to do the trick, okay...give the cheap stuff a good 10,000-20,000 easy before seeing how consumption 'respond's for the long-term.

If at that point you still don't want to replace the oil control rings, go with the goods for a 'try'. Either way, you'll NEED that after re-ring to keep consumption issues from happening again.
