I was using Penzoil conventional oil for 3K OCI.Now I switched to Mobil-1 with a OCI of 6K with a Baldwin filter.I do mostly highway.I'm thinking of with the Mobil-1 0W-20 the next time around.Joe
My dad's Town Car is changed via the OLM. He's running Mobil 1 0w20 and K&N filters (soon to be Amsoil EaO) Ranges between 14-18,000Km in terms of change intervals.
Engine looks really nice under the valve covers right now (pretty easy to see through the oil cap on the 4.6L mod motors) but only has 70,000Km on it, so that's expected.....
Mobil 1 is usually more than twice the cost of Pennzoil, so I guess he's still coming out the same in terms of cost. He could've went longer on the Pennzoil though, but he could go longer on the Mobil 1 as well.. what a predicament!
You saved dollars on 1 less filter change and the time and labor involved. When you get closer to 75K or when the engine starts using oil....bump it up to a 5w30 weight oil.

5w20 vs 5w30 for older engine is open to debate. User AEHaas had documented getting less oil consumption w/ 20w - and he gives his theory as to why that is.
I am now running PP 5w20 in my 98 Sienna (150+k miles) - oil consumption is as slow as it's ever been in years (more on this in a post I need to get around to writing).

My statement is from the examples of engines I have. I can't speak for anyone else. AEHass has an engine that cost more than most people pay for an entire car. The specs and tolerances are so perfect compaired to most engines....This would not be a fair example of the average Joes engine.
