I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer 4.3. I have been experimenting with different filters for this vehicle and trying to note any differences. So far I have used Fram(oops), Purolator Premium Plus, AC Delco, and now Baldwin. One used oil analysis has been done with the Prolator and particulates were minimal. At idle my stock oil gauge warm is 40 psi, any pressure on the gas peddle and pressure is 60. This is across the board on all filters except the Baldwin. The Baldwin is installed now and at idle the pressure is at approx. 50 psi. when warm. No other filter had this happen while installed. Also with all filters there is an upper end chatter when accelerating, except with the AC Delco. The engine remained quiet throughout at all times. I have been looking between filtering vs flow, going by the stock gauge and just plain old listening to the engine. I want to switch filters to see if a change occurs but want to do a used oil analysis on this combination. I am still searching but thought I could get some thoughts on this.
