The Tundra, RX 350, and Soul are all paid off and during the summer we are going to have 4 drivers and 3 cars, so I added to the fleet. For now this will be my new daily during the week and I'll drive the Tundra around on weekends.

Looks like it's overfilled from the factory.

Ended up getting this well under MSRP and ended up getting the Subaru 10/100k Gold Plus warranty for $2K. I'll be putting less than 10k miles per year on this and between the head unit and CVT if I didn't use a dime of it, I will have still slept well for 10 years.

those are notoriously hard to check.. I'd suggest starting it. shutting off.. and checking after 2-3m

also before adding check it several times or you might randomly end up overfull.
IIRC the new ones are down to 4.4qt

my 2011 forester was 5.75qt, 2013 outback was 5.25qt, 2015 forester was 5.25qt, and my 2022 was 4.4qt.. yeah I overfilled it first oil change
all FB25's
Also cant use an oil extractor.. worthless on those engines.. but at least the oil filter is up top.

I wouldnt doubt its actually overfull. they all seem to do that because it will use abit during engine break-in and they dont want you freaking out you have an oil burner if the oil light comes on (1qt low)

Honestly, I heard about "Foresters" but never really paid any attention to them until recently. I like the looks of them & like you mentioned if one can get them under MSRP then that's good competition. $2k for upgrading to a full 10 yr/100k is as good as it gets. Nicely trimmed bucket you have there. Motor on & enjoy the ride.

Congrats. I'm an oddball (understatement) and would buy one if I could get it in 2 wheel drive. Go figure. I also don't like the dash screens on most of today's cars. I'm screwed. I DO like my son's new Ford Maverick - about the only thing I do like these days....again, I'm doomed next time I need to purchase a vehicle.

Keep us posted on your results.

The Maverick is the bomb

4.6 qt fills them to the top dot for me.

I have a 2024 Crosstrek which I very much like. My only concern is with the same 11.6 inch touch screen in your new car. It is very quirky. From what I have read it is problematic accoss all Subaru product lines for 2024 - 2025.

Is that because so much of the oil is down deep in the low part of the oil pan, beyond what can be reached from the dipstick tube? I had been wondering that myself.
