Decided on a whim to give Mobil 1 a try again in the Titan. 5w30 and 10w30 flavors gave me some valve train noise, especially when idling.

Put in 7qts of 0w30 with a XG7317 (the gold can). So far, no noticeable valve train noise. Engine builds oil pressure a little quicker than Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 and PP in the same grade. In 1K miles, no noticeable mileage increase.

Here in Central Florida, we are experiencing lower than normal temperatures. Yesterday it was 19 degrees when I went to work at 0400 hours. Engine started with no effort, no rattle, and OP was registering in a second or two. My Truck has a real-time OP gauge. I will run it for 7500 or so. If 0W-40 is available in large jugs, I may run it in the summer.

I have run all different types/makes of oil from RP, PP, Pennzoil Ultra, Mobil 1 all at 5w30 or 10w30 flavors. This Mobil 1 seems to work great. I may have found the right flavor for this truck.

Wife's Altima is running Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and seems to run best on that. I may try Mobil 1 0w30 though.

Both vehicles are out of warranty. The P1 and XG filters seem to work best on the Nissans for me.

I'm in Apopka, using Mobil 1 0W30 and XG fram (gold can) for my wife's Toyota Yaris. The car has had no issues with the cold mornings lately. The engine does seem quieter since we stopped using oil from the stealership. We did notice an increase in fuel economy over time, which I found out though oil analysis was probably due to the oil sheering down to a 0W20. I've got a Nissan Cube currenty using Amsoil ASL and a Fram XG which also seem to be working well, but no real advantage in fuel economy so far. I think the green cap Mobil 1 is good for the money.

It's cold here in MI single and bellow temps and with AFE in the pan very nice starts,no sluggish,no underhood groans etc, good RPM's.

love a "0w" in the winter!

yep stick with that m1, but 7500 is a bit low
i would go 1200 on it or more
heck if ur running synthetic you dont even need to change it just the filter every now and then

That's a bit much. It's good oil, and does have its limits. It still needs changing every so often.

I may have to get some Mobil 1 0w30 for the Buick. Although it seems to like Castrol EDGE 5w30. The Honda likes Mobil 1 0w-20 just fine.

Good [censored] you get up early. I thought 6 was bad. Never did understand why that Mobil 1 0w30 has been for sale in the US for so long while not up here in Canada where we need it even more. I'll try a fill of it one of these days.

thats what i would do if i ran 5/20
im kinda old school and it takes a while before i warm up to new things like a thinner oil
but if i ran a 5/20 i would go with a trusted syn that knows the biz like mobil. they have made oil for about 100 years...
got to have it figured out by now

im a ford guy, so 0/5w20 is my flavor, mobil fan for yrs, 0w20 in my mazda 6 2.3l, Castrol Edge 5w20 in wifes escape 2.3l, the edge is quiter and shes getting btr mpgs than me too, and i accelerate like a grandpa, shes more of a lead foot, cars are both 08s virtually same engine

Mobil 1 0W20 and 0W30 are available in tropical climates such as Florida and California but not in frigid cold country like Canada is hard to imagine.

For some reason, I didn't have much luck either with the regular Mobil 1 5W-20, but the Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w20 in my MDX is sweet. I was really hesitant to try Mobil 1 again after my poor experience with it in 5W-20, but I'm beginning to think their AFE 0W-xx weights are the real deal.

Like your Nissans, my MDX takes the xx7317 series filters. I have the PureOne PL14610 on it. Great combo.

Well, I am a BITOG person and like to experiment. So far, the Mobil 1 0w30 seems to be the ticket for the Titan. I am conservative, so I am comfortable with 7500 OCI's. Mobil 1 is about the same cost as PP at the local Wally.

+1 to that, i always see on here ppl saying PP is so much cheaper than Mobil 1 and thats why they buy it, I went to walmart today and while there i went to the oil section just to see the price, Mobil 1 was $24.50, PP was $23.50, 5quart jugs, WOW what a savings!!
